Emergency Medicine Residency

Emergency Service Partners is pleased to have collaborated with the Seton Healthcare Family and what is now the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas to establish Austin’s very first emergency medicine residency program!

ESP endowed the chair of the department with a $2 million gift and works closely with the program to provide top-notch faculty and support. The program’s first class of eight residents began in July 2012.

Residents are based at University Medical Center Brackenridge, but also spend time at Seton Medical Center Austin, Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, and Seton Highland Lakes Hospital.

Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship

ESP helped establish and now directs a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas. The first class of fellows began in July 2013. Pediatric-trained residents follow a three-year fellowship track, and Emergency Medicine-trained residents follow a two-year fellowship track. In addition, fellows devote more than 20 months to Pediatric Emergency Medicine research, ultimately producing a published research project at the end of the fellowship.

Dell Children’s is one of only 17 Level I pediatric trauma centers in the U.S, which offers fellows the opportunity to work with highly acute patients under the guidance and mentorship of 18 full-time, fellowship-trained faculty dedicated to teaching and clinical care.
