Parekh Named Vice President, Business Operations

Sohan ParekhDr. Sohan Parekh has been named Vice President, Business Operations. In this new role, Dr. Parekh will support USACS Southwest’s president and other vice presidents by performing financial analysis of overall business operations; developing operational solutions to achieve strategic goals, execute business plans, and meet budgetary targets; and assisting with the development, financial modeling, and negotiation of agreements and contracts with existing business partners, among other duties.

Parekh has served as an attending physician at University Medical Center Brackenridge (UMCB) since joining ESP in 2008. He also serves as the Director of Emergency and Critical Care Ultrasound at UMCB, overseeing all facets of the emergency ultrasound program. He was elected to the ESP Board of Managers in 2013 and served on several committees, including the finance committee, governance committee, compensation committee, and board nominating committee, which he chaired.

Parekh is a founding faculty member of the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School Emergency Medicine Residency. As an expert in emergency ultrasound, he has developed educational curricula, lectures nationally, and serves as a technology consultant to industry.
