Patel Offers Tips for Time Change

Resetting all of your clocks at home at the end of Daylight Saving Time in early November can be difficult enough, but resetting your internal body clock is a whole other matter. Dr. Kalpesh Patel, an Emergency Service Partners pulmonary/critical care and sleep medicine physician based at Seton Medical Center Hays, offered tips to ease the process in an article published by Seton.

“Following a fixed sleep time should help us learn what our body needs,” Patel said. “Each person is different but in general, we should stick to the same time nightly. It’s important to help prepare our minds that the bedroom is just for sleep. Avoid activities like watching TV and texting in the bedroom.”
