ESP Contributes to ED Design Guide

Emergency Department Design by Jon HuddyThree Emergency Service Partners, L.P. associates are among the contributors to a new book about emergency department design published by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).

The second edition of Emergency Department Design: A Practical Guide to Planning for the Future, by Jon Huddy, was released in the fall of 2016. The book focuses on innovative operational and physical design concepts in EDs across the U.S., Canada, South America and Europe to maximize throughput, reduce length of stay, and increase patient, staff, and provider satisfaction.

ESP staff listed as contributors who offered their expertise, particularly regarding freestanding emergency departments, are:

  • Brian Aldred, MD, an ESP board member and Executive Vice President who also serves as Medical Director for Five Star ER
  • Marysol Imler, RN, Vice President of Operations for Five Star ER
