Partners Re-elect Three Board Members

ESP’s General Partner Members re-elected three partners to three-year terms on the group’s 10-member Board of Managers.

Allen CoburnDr. Coburn Allen is the program director for the pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, where he has served as an EM physician since joining ESP in 2011. He was first elected to the ESP Board of Managers in 2014. In addition to his work founding the pediatric EM fellowship at Dell Children’s, Allen serves as chair of the Seton Institutional Review Board and was appointed to the Infectious Disease Society of America Pediatric Bone and Joint Infection Guideline Committee. In 2013, he founded Dell Children’s Medical Global Outreach, a fund supporting a medical clinic, orphanage, and feeding program that he helped develop in rural Haiti in partnership with charity organization myLIFEspeaks.

Brandon LewisDr. Brandon Lewis is the emergency department medical director at CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan, TX, and Vice President of Medical Affairs for the CHI St. Joseph Health System. He was elected to the ESP Board of Managers in 2012. Lewis was involved in launching the St. Joseph Emergency Center in College Station and led the effort to open the Bryan office of Hospital Physicians in Clinical Research (HPCR) to encourage medical research in the Bryan area. In 2015, he was instrumental in the development of the Ob/Gyn Hospitalist program at St. Joseph. Lewis serves on the board of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and currently sits on the board of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association.

Sohan ParekhDr. Sohan Parekh has served as an attending physician at University Medical Center Brackenridge (UMCB) since joining ESP in 2008. He also serves as the Director of Emergency and Critical Care Ultrasound at UMCB, overseeing all facets of the emergency ultrasound program. He was elected to the ESP Board of Managers in 2013. Parekh is a founding faculty member of the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School Emergency Medicine Residency. As an expert in emergency ultrasound, he has developed educational curricula, lectures nationally, and serves as a technology consultant to industry.
