The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School Emergency Medicine Residency program, based at University Medical Center Brackenridge, began training physicians in 2012. Each year, the program must be re-accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

“As part of that process, I have an opportunity to review the amazing scholarly work the faculty and residents are doing for emergency medicine in Austin,” said ESP physician Dr. Todd Berger, program director. “I’m proud of all of our colleagues’ accomplishments: 21 publications and 43 regional/national/international presentations this year. I’m especially impressed with our growth with involvement in national committees.”

In addition, the program was awarded 14 grants. The statistics reflect work completed between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016.
