Soubra Goes Beyond the Call of Duty

July 26, 2016

Dr. Said Soubra accepts Seton Humancare award for his work in Cedar ParkSome say medicine is a calling; sometimes it means going above and beyond the call of duty. Such is the case with Dr. Said Soubra, an ESP pulmonary/critical care physician.

ESP Board Member Dr. Bob Harding recounts a recent example he learned about that took place at the new Cedar Park Regional Emergency Center in Leander–a satellite facility of Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, some five miles away. Upon learning of a patient at the freestanding ED with a failed intubation and failed cricothyrotomy, Soubra left the main hospital with some equipment and went to Leander to perform a bedside tracheotomy. The patient survived.

“Dr. Soubra is pretty humble and is always willing to help out,” Harding said, describing this case as “going above and beyond his call of duty.” Thanks for all of our physicians who perform life-saving work every day!

Soubra received a Humancare award from the Seton Healthcare Family in recognition of his work.
